Axfood is a Swedish food retailer with a turnover of 3,8 billion EUR. United Nordic is a food retail purchasing Alliance, turnover 240 MEUR, consisting of five top food retailers in the Nordic region. The role of the CSR/QA Manager is a combination of consultancy and resource provision for the member companies of United Nordic. I report directly to the CEO of UN, and I am a member of the UN Procurement Council; the executive commitee of UN. More specifically, as the CSR/QA Mgr I act as chairman of the CSR/Quality Council, facilitating harmonisation between member company policies related to sustainability and quality, and supporting members in projects related to sustainability/quality management/food safety. Duties include managing purchasing specifications for tenders, internal auditing and supplier auditing.

-Author of the Axfood Code of Conduct-Managed the supplier social compliance inspection programme in high risk countries-Evaluated human rights and labor standards of suppliers in developing countries. Responsible for dialogues with suppliers on corrective action plans-Had strategic influence on Axfood’s progress in the area of sustainability and supply chain improvement

-Established the UN CSR Council in 2010, the focus of which is to strengthen the social compliance perspective in joint purchasing and share best practice-Author of the United Nordic Code of Conduct-Managed technical food specifications used by buyers in the tender process

-Established the Quality Council within UN, the focus of which is to strengthen the quality perspective in joint purchasing and share best practice. Acting as Chairman of the Council, which consists of the quality managers of the member companies.-Author of the first formal Food Safety requirements for suppliers-Conducted food safety and quality audits at food manufacturing sites in Europe and Thailand against the UN supplier requirements-Qualified lead auditor for BRC Global Food Standard in 2005-Managed technical food specifications used by buyers in the tender process

-Responsible for daily operation of microbiological testing laboratory including method validation, due diligence, self-control programme, and LIMS database. Personnel responsibility for 3 persons-Project leader for the HACCP-programme. Co-ordinated and documented risk analysis investigations with focus on consumer safety throughout the entire production facility together with various personnel categories-Lead Auditor at supplier audits against company specific requirements related to food safety

PhD students at Swedish universities combine their research studies with teaching graduate students. In my case I planned and executed courses in microbiological analyses and methods.
