Profile bio

About Lene Madsen

I am a chemical engineer (M.Sci.), Ph.D. and Post.doc. For 20 years I have worked with the preparation, characterization, development, optimization, implementation, documentation and production, of advanced materials. These materials are mainly ceramics and pigments and to a lesser extent corrugated and coated non woven fibers and a polymer membrane. Thus I have a good over view on material science, their processing methods from lab scale to production scale.I am very experienced in continuous process control – on how process parameters influences the final product performance as well as the intermediate products. This also includes relevant measuring techniques, sampling and data interpretation. Meaning that I can develop the understanding of the link between critical material properties, process robustness and product performance, including the impact of material variability. My biggest interest is the working process during implementation of a new idea/ new product into a production. Doing this, I combine R&D work, design of experiments and Six Sigma with the soft “people part” on setting up cross functional teams, and the on-going iteration process between the costumer (internal & external), production and R&D. I easily switch between R&D and production point of view.I am cross functional “hands on” operational person; informal leader, scientist, lab technician and operator. I am very fast to get familiar with new products, processes and people as well, and I like very much to solve complex problems.

Listed skills include Datahandlingsystems, Six Sigma, Pesticides In Groundwater, Applied Surface Chemistry, and 9 others.

I was responsible for the investigation of how pesticides are transported (adsorption/desorption). This included selection of test field area, data sampling, lab work and data interpretation and evaluation in collaboration with geologist, biologist and engineering people. This study results in increased knowledge on how pesticides adsorbed to different sediments with low carbon content i.e. The pesticides are transported in saturated zone as well, see publication list.
