At the architecture department I am working on the dissemination of the products of my former graduation studio, as well as the development of the studio for new generations. Meanwhile I assist in tutoring the second-year design students.

At the CRC, together with assistent-professor Sergio M. Figueiredo, we try to connect design practice and discourse through exhibitions and thus foster a thoughtful, yet accessible, architectural conscience. Our most recent project is an account of the important, yet overlooked Eindhoven School exhibition from 1988, as well as the professors that created the intellectual climate, allowing this Eindhoven School to come into existence. This culminated in the travelling exhibition "The Eindhoven School : a forgotten avant-garde", currently in view in Ghent, after Eindhoven, Rotterdam and Delft, including work shared with us by Jo Coenen, Martien Jansen, René van Zuuk, Jos van Eldonk and Wim van den Bergh.

Op de faculteit Bouwkunde van de TU/e zijn wij aan de slag gegaan om een database samen te stellen van projecten die zijn gedaan onder het Urban Lab. Met docent Marcel Musch verzorgen we ook een publicatie over het afgelopen semesterproject waar ikzelf aan het deelgenomen. Het einddoel is een website met een overzicht van de projecten over erfgoedtransformatie in Brabant.

The Archiprint is the Architecture journal of AnArchi, Study Association for Architecture at TU/e. During my time here we made two publications that deal with subjects much debated in our current architecture climate. First 'Patina', an issue that aimed to stretch the definition of that word to the extreme, enveloping critical discussion about materiality, heritage, iconography, history in the city and reconstruction. Second 'The Wall', discussing the separating and mitigating architectural tool currently used by young architects to mend fragmented urban and architectural landscapes in Western Europe.

The position that Chepos takes in this faculty is essential. In 2005, Gerard van Zeijl claimed that architecture starts with passion. In the words of Herakleitos: 'the conveying of knowledge does not come down to filling a bottomless bucket, but to lighting a fire.' Chepos seems to act like a catalyst in this process: have I not heard many times from new editors that they have developed, or are in the process of developing a new, nuanced outlook on the built environment through the miniature researches that they perform before writing an article? Chepos lets you touch upon subjects that keep breeding inside your head, desperate to evacuate through rapid yet coordinated taps on a keyboard. And that specific moment, the moment students become interested in writing, is truly important and that is what seems to happen in Chepos. During my time here I came into contact with architectural figures such as John Habraken, David Gianotten, Herman Hertzberger, UNStudio, BiermanHenket en OTH Architecten. During 2015-2016 I took on the chairmanship and from March 2016 till March 2017 I was responsible for the final compilation and shaping of the magazine as final editor.

Onder het motto "groot in klein werk" proberen wij uit te stralen dat ook kleinere werken onze volle aandacht krijgen en dat wij ons niet alleen willen concentreren op de in het oog springende projecten. Onze kracht ligt in de veelzijdigheid van onze medewerkers en de no-nonsens benadering van de wensen van onze klanten. Voor een uitbouw van een woning in een rij of voor het veranderen van een zolder in een bruikbare verdieping is de architectuur meestal ondergeschikt en heeft de opdrachtgever meer belang bij een goed advies en een bureau dat de vergunning snel en netjes weet te verzorgen.

Bij de BouwhulpGroep werkte ik twee dagen per week als assistent-ontwerper en liep ik tevens twee dagen per week stage, waarbij ik onderzoek mocht doen naar de bestaande woningvoorraad. Deze stage heeft mij veel geleerd over de waanzinnige wereld van de massawoningbouw, waar projecten van 700 woningen geen uitzondering vormen. Bij dit bureau wordt gewerkt in de nasleep van de periode 1945-1975, waarin zo'n drie miljoen systeembouwwoningen zijn gebouwd die nu onderhand aan renovatie toe zijn. Met een bureaupresentatie over ornamentiek in de Nederlandse woningbouw heb ik de stage succesvol afgesloten.

Met de promotie commissie zijn wij verantwoordelijk voor alle visuele profilering van Cheops, studievereniging Bouwkunde. In het studiejaar 2014-2015 mocht ik de leiding nemen bij het ontwerpen van een nieuwe, alles omvattende huisstijl. Dit project is afgerond begin dit studiejaar. Dit studiejaar is het lustrum leidend binnen de promotie commissie, waarvoor we ook een huisstijl ontwikkelen.

Als voorzitter van de Excursie commissie heb ik samen met zes andere studenten een bouwkundige reis georganiseerd naar Luxemburg.

Met de 24UP commissie hebben wij een ontwerpwedstrijd georganiseerd in Den Bosch, op het oude terrein van veevoederfabriek de Heus. Deze wedstrijd duurde 24 uur, waarin studenten een casestudy van het gebied moesten uitwerken. Als commissaris Acquisitie kwam ik in aanraking met verschillende bedrijven, en heb ik succesvol sponsoring geregeld voor het evenement.
