Because the job at my previous company didn't give me the desired work satisfaction I decided not to renew my one-year contract. The main focus of my role was in practice different than I had anticipated. Also the work pressure of this job increased massively because of the Covid situation. So I decided to take a time out to perform introspection and orientation on the next desired step in my career. After this period I got a clear view on the values and activities I wanted in my next role. During this phase I also performed a number of volunteer activities

As Senior Product Owner I made sure we delivered our customers the solutions they really need. We built custom software platforms, mobile apps and portals which added a lot of business value and supported a great customer experience. I was simultaneously the Product Owner of multiple development teams which worked on projects in a variety of fields like medical supplies, government, finance, recycling and transportation.The software we developed was enabling the customers to make big steps in the growth of their business. In this role I also did full project management and managed each project on scope, budget and deadlines.

As Product Owner I was responsible for the development direction of detelefoongids.nl, delivering value to customers and users, communication about the platform, stakeholder management et cetera. My main focus was optimizing conversions to the customers. I always strived to continue improving the usability for the users and increase traffic to the platform (with multi million monthly visits). In this role I also worked continually on improving the search functionalities, the content we published and creating synergy with other platforms.

During this period I was the Product manager Systems at the Product management department of DTG. I was responsible for the correct implementation of our products and necessary delivery processes in a new CRM system. In this role I translated product properties and input from other product managers into functional specifications, created test plans, coordinated testing activities, trained colleagues en had regularly sessions with the IT department about delivered functionalities and product configurations. I also got the responsibility to manage the prices and authorize the price changes for all products in the CRM system.

As Taxonomist I was responsible for creating and managing taxonomies (content structures) for DTG (De Telefoongids BV). Those taxonomies help users find relevant advertisers on the website and also in mobile apps. I was also Product manager for a self service application for collecting unique and rich content about our advertisers. In that role I was responsible for development of the application which contained over 150.000 business profiles.Tasks for this position included:- Creating a taxonomy which is used to collect rich content profiles about advertisers- Managing a keyword analysis project that was used as basis for a completely new SEO structure on our website (www.detelefoongids.nl)- Improving search results on this website by enhancing several reference files- Launching a custom made automated profile enriching solution- Responsible for managing an anti-scraping tool (in cooperation with ICT)- Testing applications which are used by customers, internal users and 3rd parties- Advising about technical interfaces, infrastructures and change requests as subject matter expert in multiple online projects

In this job I performed testing, created functional requirements and wrote testcases in a project to rebuild an online application. This combined application (self service and backend) is used to collect and display unique content about our advertisers at De Telefoongids website. By offering detailed profiles about those advertisers we drive more traffic to the website which gives the advertisers a better ROI and visitors a better search experience. In this project I got familiar with the SCRUM approach from a client perspective. During this 1 year project I got gradually more and more responsibilities in the fields of test management, product management and also project management. When the application was launched I delivered the functional documentation and instructed groups of stakeholders how to use the application.During this period I was also involved in testing various other parts of De Telefoongids website (one of the Top 20 websites of The Netherlands).

Performed a research on the subject of internal information flows within a Dutch regional police force (North-Holland North) with 1500 employees. I wrote my bachelor thesis about this subject and included a number of recommendations for the organisation. The director of the police force was satisfied with the research and decided to implement several of my recommendations.
