Free African Society was a group of African Diasporic community leaders who created a virtual summer camp dedicated to giving young people ages 5 - 18 knowledge and practical skills that would empower them and keep them active during the first summer after lockdown

• Taught 150 students ages 16-18 Consumer Math focused on raising knowledge on personal finance, entrepreneurship, and investing• Created a curriculum pulling from common core standards, national economic standards and JumpStart economic standards as well as emotional intelligence curriculums to guided students to thinking confident about their financial future and breaking the poverty cycle• Created Blue Ink Student based Artist Coalition dedicated to using art and media as tools of healing and self-advocacy. Led 8 students to the 2018 Youth Poetry Slam Championships and got 6th place out of 40 schools

• Taught 110 students ages 14-16 in an Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 course to prepare students for Pennsylvania Algebra Keystone Exam• Created tracking system that tracked students mastery of Pennsylvania Common Core standards and tracked homework and classwork completion• Developed and maintained relationships with parents to ensure student success and update student support systems on their student progress in the course• Mentored and met weekly with five 9th and 10th students that were identified as struggling and set personal goals and individual plans to ensure their success during the school year.

• Teaching 60 students ages 10-12 mathematics based on the Pennsylvania state standards; created differentiated daily lesson plans based on diverse learning styles• Using an original curriculum inspired by student’s previous knowledge, Common Core Standards, national and state standardized assessments to ensure success in high school and college mathematics.• Leading a creative writing after-school program focusing on using literary arts as a tool of self-expression; work with students to organize in-school poetry competitions, open mics and performance showcases while working with prominent poets, writers and artists in the Philadelphia area.

Teach for America's national association for Alumni of Color organization dedicated to the continuous development of alumni of color as transformational leaders, thought-partners and agents for change. The Collective is on pace to build a stronger network of alumni of color and accelerate the journey to reaching “One Day,” when all children in this nation have the opportunity to attain an excellent education.
