Financial It ConsultantIndependent 1995 - PresentToronto, Canada AreaAfter completing the upgrade project at Scotiabank (below), I elected to move into ERP work. This required the acquisition of new skills and I obtained certifications for core Dynamics AX modules (Financials, Trade & Logistics, HR, Administration, Installation and Configuration, X++ Programming). I qualified as a Microsoft Certified Trainer and taught several courses for HiTech Institute. Resulting ERP consulting engagements include:NAV Financials Implementation Consultant> Financials consultant in a NAV upgrade engagement> A year long contract in Montreal, CanadaAX Administration Consultant> Responsible for AX Administration during AX upgrade engagement> This contract was in Florida, USAWhen I left the Bank to form my own company, I initially performed financial and tax services for small business. However, when the Scotiabank offered a consulting contract, I changed my focus back to technology. The system which I helped originate, CARDS (below), was now a critical system for the Bank, and it required upgrading to a more robust platform. Some of the areas in which I assisted in this long effort include:Database Development > Database design> Migration of legacy systems to Sybase, SQL ServerSystem Administration > System upgrades; monitoring and maintenance, and troubleshooting> Backup/recovery tasks,> Data conversionBank Credit Portfolio Reporting> Team lead in development of Data Warehouse for risk reporting> Project leader in development of Data Mart for web based queries> Executive reports for Board of Directors, Shareholders and Federal Government> Inter-Bank Risk Reporting system for Board of Directors

Manager – Systems Specifications And DevelopmentScotiabank 1983 - 1995Toronto, Canada AreaAfter graduating with an MBA in Finance and Technology from York U, Scotiabank hired me to work in Corporate Real Estate lending out of the Executive Offices in downtown Toronto. As a trainee Credit Supervisor, my interest in technology quickly resulted in a secondary role: to design and develop an Executive Corporate Real Estate Portfolio reporting system. This was a success and resulted in monthly summary portfolio reports for the Senior Credit Committee.Assigned to Corporate Real Estate Banking as relationship Account Manager for the Ottawa region, I again was given a secondary role: developing a reporting system for the Real Estate Banking portfolio. The resulting system successfully mirrored and complemented the earlier portfolio system which I had developed.I was recruited to a new department with the rather broad mandate to automate Corporate lending processes in Scotiabank Executive offices. The primary focus of this group quickly gelled into a project to automate all aspects of credit processing including Executive portfolio reporting. My role was to manage the development group in the automation of credit processing in a system that became known as CARDS*> Presented the project proposal to the bank’s executive, > Managed the project development team. > Directed prototyping, general and detailed design, programming and system testing.* Credit Authorization Reporting and Documentation System (CARDS) -
