About Leo Chow

As an architect, educator, and global citizen, I’m committed to creating better cities and places for people. I extend the principles of interdisciplinary design by engaging a variety of stakeholders in the realization of significant architecture and urban projects throughout the United States and Asia, including mixed-use complexes, commercial office buildings, residential towers, higher education facilities, buildings for science, and urban planning projects. My approach emphasizes collaboration and integration of a variety of disciplines—structural engineering, building services, environmental engineering, and digital analysis—to address complex functional and performance challenges. The result is an architecture that is responsive to each client’s needs, with careful consideration of climate, local ecologies, social context, and constructability. To further my portfolio of work, I have donated my time to teaching and public service. These contributions underscore my belief in human-centered architecture and urbanism that harness technological advancement, create exceptional places, and allow individuals and communities to thrive. I have also contributed my expertise as a board member of San Francisco Heritage and a member of the San Francisco Arts Commission.
