My father and I opened up our own deli, which I have been responsible for marketing and contributing to all facets of daily operations. Having a business of our own has taught me a lot about how to run an efficient business, as well as the importance of details. Some of my duties include: cooking, delivering, opening/closing, checking reports, assisting payroll, running social media accounts, and other marketing duties.

Sports Legends is a family owned restaurant in Clearwater, FL. My father is currently the GM, and he hired me to work whenever I am home from school. I started working as a floating bar-back with responsibilities behind the bar and walking around making sure everything is running smoothly. In a months time, my responsibilities increased and I found myself working as a host/waiter/bartender, and eventually as an assistant manager. I am now able to work any position at the restaurant, and I have received a plethora of positive feedback from not only my coworkers and employers, but from the customers as well. Since my dad is the GM, I have been very involved with many of the decisions around the bar, and he has been teaching me how to be a successful leader and manager. For Super Bowl 50 he even flew me down from school for additional help to assure that the bar saw a successful night. I have been involved with some of the marketing at the bar as well, and they even used my idea of raffling off NFL jerseys from the teams playing in the playoffs; customers received a raffle ticket for every $10 spent at the bar. It ended up being a great success, and we raffled off jerseys throughout the 2015 playoffs. Some of my core responsibilities working include, but are not limited to: maintaining customer satisfaction, being a leader for coworkers, managing inventory levels, and above satisfactory customer service. Since working at the restaurant I have gained valuable experience in the managing field and in the restaurant business itself, and I've learned how to use multiple different resources which aid in inventory control, technologies used in the restaurant, and operating systems used for the business. I recently expanded my role with the business, and now run all the social media accounts as well. I am looking to learn more about being a successful marketer, and running these accounts have allowed me to get some real world experience to test my abilities.

At Beans 2 Brew I am a student volunteer learning the ropes of a start up business. Beans 2 Brew was only founded last year by some students at Appalachian State, and this year they have already begun the expanding process. My job is to work behind the counter at the coffee shop, handle customer service responsibilities, and handle money at the register. I am also given the opportunity to go to meetings and offer my own suggestions and constructive criticism to the business. This is my first semester working, but I aim to volunteer as much as possible; hopefully leading to higher position with the business. I recently have started with one of the members on the executive team to help him with supply chain management. I will soon be responsible for ordering a portion of the inventory each week from one of the local businesses.

I was also able to work the cash register, and when closing I was trusted to count the money for the deposit and drop it off with a manager. The store that I work at is the second biggest in the district, and working major holidays has taught me to work under stressful situations at a productive rate.
