I am currently a sophomore in the Kelley School of Business. I am majoring in accounting, finance and entrepreneurship. I became interested in these majors because I love the quantitative analysis aspects of accounting and finance as well as the management and responsibility aspects that come from entrepreneurship. In high school, I was the president of DECA, a business club that taught me many important lessons. As I had to plan events and also ensure students were learning their topics, I really learned how to be organized, professional, hard working and a positive mentor to young students. I was also in charge of the finance department for DECA which showed me my passion for quantitative analysis and looking for ways to cut costs to provide more scholarship money for our students. Another club that I participated in, National Honors Society, taught me how to become a better person in the community. Through many food drives, community involvement events and helping at food shelters, I learned that I was passionate about helping others. Due to these lessons that I have learned, I believe that I can combine the quantitative analysis, work ethic and leadership that I learned through these experiences to work effectively in the finance field. I hope to gain an internship with an investment banking company before my junior year to continue learning and gaining experience to eventually enter the field.
