I led a team of 13 cargo readiness assistants who are tasked with ensuring that export documentation compliance is met for CMA-CGM America's and APL's East and Gulf Coast ports. I respond to and resolve escalations from internal and external customers for information and assistance with container export loads. Implemented and maintained the Vessel Reconciliation Report for the East Coast team to ensure the team's timely completion of the vessel closeout process. Audited the team's charging for additional services to ensure accuracy. I work with other teams locally and internationally to resolve issues with US export cargo.

I was a transportation officer in the Army Reserve. Served mostly in port units including a year in Kuwait/ Iraq. My first assignment was as the port of Shuaiba Battle Captain. I tracked US military cargo vessels and their discharge operations throughout the Middle East during the surge leading up to and through the invasion of Iraq. This information was distributed electronically to commands throughout the world. After surge abated at Shuaiba, transferred to the port Shuwaikh to break logjam of containers bound for Iraq.. Only junior officer given the responsibility of working with a carrier (lieutenant colonels were otherwise assigned). Worked successfully with P&O Ned Lloyd and Lykes Brothers and their Kuwaiti contract partners to move backlog of containers forward. Promoted to officer in charge at Shuwaikh and also worked with APL and Maersk as well as Kuwaiti customs to continue the operation. After successfully clearing the backlog, transferred to Iraq as a liaison officer between the Surface Deployment and Distribution Command and Combined Joint Task Force 7 to provide commercial liner service to unit cargo leaving the theater. Commander of the 839th Highway Regulation Team, a 16 soldier detachment. Maintained 90% unit deployment readiness status despite the Army re-flagging the unit.Served as a Cargo Officer and Operations Officer for the 76th and 195th Transportation Detachments and Commander of the 505th Transportation Detachment. Planned, assigned and executed training for detachments. Was assigned additional duties as Unit Supply Officer and Arms Room Officer. Maintained 100% monthly sensitive items inventory. Maintained, inventoried and ordered items to maintain unit supply levels.
