- Lead team that focuses on assigned ingredient or packaging portfolio ensuring suppliers meet program requirements for food safety and quality, people development, and continuous improvement- Ensure compliance and improvements to Approval Process for qualification of new material suppliers- Conduct audits at supplier locations prior to purchasing and as required per program requirements- Manage quality and food safety expectations for existing ingredient supply chain which includes but not limited to: audit corrective action follow-up, facilitate discussion between Smucker plant and supplier when quality or food safety issues require mitigation, support internal raw material sampling and testing protocol and data analysis, etc.- Develop and manage quality systems with a continuous improvement mindset for programs such as supplier documentation management system - Maintain and review ingredient supplier documentation - Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to more effectively address issues- Monitor compliance to Smucker Ingredient Specifications through receiving data and Supplier Non- Conformance Report review and work to reduce non-conformances- Maintain Approved Vendor List for Ingredient usage in Smucker products- Maintain Raw Material Hazard Analysis for related ingredient portfolios

• Lead a team of 58 employees to deliver key business results through daily direction setting on safety, quality, and production goals, technical improvement, and various projects related to the packaging and processing operations. The operation includes make and pack of 5 unique production lines. •Directly manage 3 salaried employees, one of which manages 55 union technicians. • Develop & deliver department master plan and manage the daily results of the work – includes equipment layout, team design/staffing, and results management• Responsible for managing department budget (~$4.5MM Department Cost Center and ~$5.9MM Labor Cost Center)• Optimize the work in the department and drive toward zero defects• Act as a coach and facilitator to the team in areas such as people management, problem solving and decision making• Develop team of area leader and process engineers including areas of skill development, career development, performance management, and employee conflict resolution• Partner with other departments to ensure consistent policies and processes are being implemented across the site• Develop and implement improvement projects and drive completion through the teams• Ensure the department meets safety, quality and sanitation standards• Ensure essential business information and expectations are clearly communicated and understood by all members of the team

• Coach and develop Team Leaders and 63 Technicians to meet Quality, Safety, Reliability, and Cost targets for department in a high risk food manufacturing environment• Develop and maintain team scorecard; share with plant leadership each month• Partner with Department Leader in developing and delivering business Master plan• Lead specific technical improvement projects per the business master plan• Assist and lead specific team high performance improvement projects• Assist in developing and executing key technical and organizational projects while increasing Smucker Quality Management System capability within the organization• Develop leadership skills through the coaching of teams and individuals to increase and leverage High Performance Organizational principles• Manage personnel issues, i.e., Kronos, vacation planning, staffing, temporary employee staffing, training plans, conflict resolution, and administation of any necessary discipline• Attend daily product cutting; ensure all follow-ups are completed to maintain high standard of product quality• Improve shutdown, maintenance, sanitation, and start-up execution• Identify and eliminate losses from the Operation• In-depth understanding of overall plant product flow including all inputs and outputs• Meet with each direct report employee 1:1 once per quarter at a minimum• Complete annual Performance Appraisal for each employee on team

As a Process Engineer I spend the majority of time driving out losses while maintaining a high level of urgency for Safety, Quality, and Productivity. I am currently involved in a reclimation project to eliminate waste and help implement our plan to reach a 95% diversion rate of all waste streams, 15% reduction in water consumption and 10% reduction in GHG. Additionally, I own the Change Management System for our plant of 260 employees as well as oversee all ORA meetings for large capital projects (> 500k or major redesign). I am leading the CQV process for two new products being released in the fall of 2015. In the past year I have began to directly manage a team of seven operators and a team leader, whose responsibilities included reporting all production results, safety, and quality outages to a department scorecard. I implemented our new department standard when interacting with the equipment by relying on the additional safety interlocks instead of using the LO/TO process.

I have worked in the packaging department focusing on process improvement. During my time with the company I have implemented around 1/5th of the periodic maintenance that needs to be completed on each machine. Throughout this time I have also became accustomed to working with operators all the way to management to get a basic understanding of the process flow.
