About Leo Caplan
I am currently a sophomore at Brown University pursuing a dual concentration in Political Science and Business Economics with a passion for government and policy. Through my political science coursework, I have analyzed policymaking processes and political systems, building critical thinking skills that I hope to apply in a real-world context. Additionally, my economics studies have provided me with quantitative skills valuable for data-driven policy analysis. At Brown, I am actively involved with Brown Initiative for Policy, the Watson Student Advisory Council, and the College Curriculum Council among other student groups. In the future, I aim to work in government or policy analysis where I can help develop evidence-based reforms to improve equality of opportunity. I am particularly interested in studying the nexus of education reform, political theory, and public policy and exploring how public education funding impacts long-term outcomes and how incentives could drive innovation to minimize persistent achievement gaps. Outside of my studies, I enjoy running, golf, skiing, and drawing.Email: leo_caplan@brown.edu
