The Competition Taskforce is reviewing Australia’s competition policy settings to help build a more dynamic and productive economy. The review will look at competition laws, policies and institutions to ensure they remain fit for purpose, with a focus on reforms that would increase productivity, reduce the cost of living and boost wages.

I am part of the Treasury team responsible for the ongoing design and drafting of the Consumer Data Right Rules (CDR).The CDR gives consumers greater access to and control over their data. It improves consumers’ ability to compare and switch between products and services and encourages competition between service providers. This should lead to better prices for consumers and more innovative products and services.Achievements- Provided written and oral advice to senior management on Consumer Data Right (CDR) issues- Developed policy around certain rules changes that are now reflected in the CDR Rules- Produced in-depth analysis of internal and external stakeholder submissions- Gave several well-regarded internal presentations.

My role is to assist with the development of water regulatory policy; contribute to the writing of reports and correspondence targeted at external stakeholders; and to ensure rural water infrastructure companies comply with the water charge rules and water market rules.Achievements- Author of numerous briefs on water policy issues- Assisting with the implementation of reforms to the Water Charge Rules. Achievements:- Assisted with the completion of the the ACCC's inquiry into reform of the Water Charge Rules. These rules are the framework for setting regulated irrigation charges throughout the Murray-Darling Basin. Particular responsibilities included: distributions, variations of determinations, annual reviews of regulated charges, appeals mechanisms and regulatory costings- Assisted with the completion of the Water Monitoring Report 2014-15. This is an annual report the ACCC completes for the Minister for Agriculture and Water Resources on movements in regulated and other irrigation charges in the Murray-Darling Basin.- Assisted with the completion of the Annual Review of Regulated Charges for Water NSW (2015-16).
