Vice Dean For Science And Research
In the context of digital transformation, society is looking for more agile companies and governments which want to harness the potential of digital technologies for producing insights faster and at lower cost for community. As educational organizations, we are faced with pressure to fill the skill gaps and do not always have the right level of flexibility. This is why it is important to rely on broader communities and collaborative environments.Technology is becoming more and more available today and pressure is moving towards ways how to efficiently use it. Advanced analytics can help answer questions like: “are we utilizing available technology enough” or “are there other ways to look for answers”. Collaboration, knowledge exchange and prototyping are key points because with lucrative services, and especially big data, it is important to manage learning curve. In first part, focus is more on “learning” and “product” coming later. While we are learning, it is important to have support and guidance from relevant institutions and this is where Algebra with R&D and AlgebraLAB is aiming in future. Looking towards digital skills as most important asset company can have in modern economy, we are tackling topics important for local community but also general society. Being able to understand how digital technologies can be used is based both on experience in digital management and industry expertise. Concept of knowledge sharing and openness is important because researchers can use real data sets to test their ideas in analysis and advanced visualization which can be further improved into “products”.
Head Of The Chair For Data Management And Analysis
Chair for Data Management and Analysis include 19 courses covering knowledge portfolio:1. Know what we know (access, sharing and storage of knowledge)2. Know what we do not know (search and creation of knowledge-core analytics and asking "right" questions)3. Do not know that we know (detection of hidden or implicit knowledge) and4. Do not know that we do not know (the detection of the key risks and opportunities).Courses include knowledge of digital marketing (in the narrow sense) but also the knowledge that will enable the achievement of marketing objectives using digital technology. This refers to the knowledge, skills and competences for analytical and strategic level of digital marketing (with the operational and tactical) and consequently the integration, analysis and interpretation of marketing data in digital form. However, for effective integration, analysis and interpretation of data in digital form is a necessary shift from classical reporting (what happened?), analysis (why it happened?) and monitoring (what is happening now?) towards estimation (what might happen ?), prediction (which is likely to happen?) and prescriptions (what we need to do?).This requires a shift from reactive to proactive. On the other hand is a necessary evolution in making decisions based on data that is in the Data-Driven Decision-making. Courses in the Chair of Data Management and Analysis empowers students with interdisciplinary knowledge, combined with the analytical skills (data science) and allow the coverage of digital marketing to the marketing of the digital era but also introduce monetization concept of big data (and other data solutions) and the effective and efficient analytics in the digital economy.

Module: Strategic Management of Technology and InnovationThis module provides a forum for the in-depth examination of strategic management topics organized around two themes: (1) the technology strategic management interface and (2) organizational innovation. The technology-strategic management interface is explored from two perspectives - an internal perspective that focuses on technology management issues, and an external perspective that focuses on the strategic implications of competing in advanced-technology industries. Organizational innovation is explored as a strategic adaptation mechanism that allows firms to effectively respond to the forces of technological change, and possibly to create such change. Case studies and readings are used to demonstrate the relevance of technology and innovation-related issues to the strategic management process. Module: Information Systems in Modern Organizations Information systems and information technology (IS/IT) represent a key source of competitive advantage for firms in digital economy. Today IS/IT no longer is simply used to support the business, but rather radically transform the very basis for competition.
