My practice focuses on trade & commodities and shipping disputes. I act for traders and mining companies, investment banks, charterers, shipowners and P&I clubs on sale contract, bill of lading, charterparty and other commercial disputes. I have been based in the firm’s Singapore office since October 2014 having relocated after 10 years in the London office.I have significant experience of multi-jurisdictional dispute resolution and handle claims both in court and arbitration proceedings including ICC, LCIA, LMAA, GAFTA, FOSFA, SCMA and SIAC.I advise clients on all issues relating to the international sale and transportation of goods including assisting in the drafting of contracts.

My recent experience includes obtaining an English High Court judgment and advising on multi-jurisdictional enforcement of a substantial claim for one of the world's largest mining and natural resources companies; advising charterers in relation to the grounding of a container vessel off the coast of Mykonos; drafting a 25 year contract of affreightment for one of the world’s largest mining companies; representing charterers in relation to a claim regarding the redelivery condition of an Aframax tanker following a 5 year bareboat charter; obtaining an LCIA award for a world leading commodities trading company in relation to their buyer’s failure to take delivery of 180,000MT of coal; successfully defending buyers in an ICC arbitration for non-performance of an alleged contract for the sale of 300,000MT of coal; and successfully defending a claim against German charterers for unpaid hire in LMAA arbitration
