I'm an analytical chemist specialising in the structure and stability of cementitious materials. Much of my research focuses on low-clinker cements; considering their durability and environmental footprint. I'm also interested in waste immobilisation, particularly using alternative cementitious binders.I lead the Centre for Infrastructure Materials at the University of Leeds, a £4.5 grant from EPSRC to investigate the long term performance of a range of materials used in civil engineering. Aside from this, I am on the Deputy Editor of Advances in Cement Research and on the editorial boards of Advances in Applied Ceramics, Sustainable and Resilient Infrastructure, and Cement and Concrete Research.
