Building on my extensive experience of project management I supported Sustrans staff across the nations and regions of the UK with the set-up and delivery of community projects in their areas, through provision of specialist/ technical advice, training and on-going support. This involved developing project ideas based on current research and trends in the health sector, identifying funding opportunities, developing and designing projects addressing a specific outcome, and overseeing the setup of these projects and building in robust monitoring and evaluation using outcome based analysis. I also trained staff in community engagement, behaviour change, and motivational interviewing to roll out best practice across the organisation. Show less

I am responsible for Project management, budget management, running a busy and varied programme of events to facilitate behaviour change, and particularly to facilitate cultural change in schools within the school settling regarding travel to school. I was responsible for running a behaviour change project called Mentro Allan, (Venture Outdoors) promoting physical activity in the natural environment to ethnic minority communities in Newport. It was an action research project trying to outline techniques and methods to increase physical activity. I was responsible for programme development, running some events, training, budget management, monitoring and reporting, data collection and coordinating action research events to assess the… Show more I was responsible for running a behaviour change project called Mentro Allan, (Venture Outdoors) promoting physical activity in the natural environment to ethnic minority communities in Newport. It was an action research project trying to outline techniques and methods to increase physical activity. I was responsible for programme development, running some events, training, budget management, monitoring and reporting, data collection and coordinating action research events to assess the effectiveness of the programme.The project was very successful and throughout the four year funding period successfully introduced over 1000 people to events and activities which increased their levels of physical activity. A proportion of these participated in regular project activities which saw them improve their fitness and health as a consequence. I was also responsible for managing 5 members of staff working on different projects within the Community development team at SEWREC on projects working on countering racism, economic development and education, training and employment.
