About Leon Carroll

Begin career as a Washington, D.C. Beat Cop in 1958, working for the Washington, DC Police Department for 6 yrs. In 1974 offered the position as Deputy Chief of Security for the Public City Housing Department. Developed a 160 hour training program and directed the day to day operations of a 50 man security force.Moved to the Los Angles, Ca area 1982 Become the Director of Security for a commercial development company that owned and operated two, 200+ room hotels and several local area high rise commercial real estate office buildings In 1991 returned to the South Florida area and continued to work in the Hotel and Hospitality Industry. August 16,1992 proved to be one of my most challenging experiences as a Security Director; preparing for and then loosing an entire resort to one of Florida’s most notorious storms, Hurricane Andrew. Securing a beach front resort as best as can be done under extreme weather conditions, Retired in 1998 after serving as the Director of Safety & Security for the Bahia Mar Resort and Marina, (which is home to the Ft. Lauderdale Boat Show) in Fort Lauderdale, FL for 5 yrs. Since retirement, continue to be involved within the security and safety industry doing consulting and training nationally and internationally.
