Developing network and security automation and optimisation software.

This role at Greater Wellington Regional Council encapsulated everything Networking related. It began as Senior Support for their Network R&S Environment. During the network discovery period many rationalisation, consolidation and upgrade paths were identified. From there the role developed into a consultation role to aid in facilitating the progression of their Network Infrastructure and broader IT Roadmap. Rationalisation and consolidation was carried out at the Operating System, Hardware, and Vender levels. Tasks included Design, Configuration, Implementation and Support across a wide variety of technologies; while also engaging and maintaining relationships with vendors to assist with breaking down Technical Requirements, SoWs, Support Agreements so that all parties understood the requirements, demands and risks to then be reflected contractually. This involved constant effective and efficient communication with multiple key stakeholders including the CTO, CIO, Business Unit Managers, Support Staff, Management as well as the multiple Vender's Technical Support, Consultants, Architects and Sales Staff. Specializing in both Cisco Unified Comms and Routing/Switching, I provide tier 3 diagnostics and troubleshooting, proactively identify flaws and implement necessary changes as per best practice, and 24x7 support to some of the largest enterprise businesses in New Zealand.

This role consisted of identifying and troubleshooting network faults at level 2, primarily focused in Routing and Switching, but included Unified Comms and Security. I provided support across a wide variety of technologies such as Cisco, Juniper, F5 & Checkpoint, as well as technical assistance and coaching to the first-level support team.

In this role I provided first-level networking support to over 150 clients, consisting of small, medium and large enterprise businesses. Strong communication and time management skills were the key to meeting client SLAs.

Diagnosed, designed, quoted, ordered, developed and maintained end-user electrical vehicle solutions for leading car manufacturers and repair shops within Wellington's CBD.
