At the start of the Traineeship programme, I studied employibility skills at the QA training centre in Reading. The employibility skills area of the programme included interview techniques inluding how to dress appropriately, how to maintain a professional manner in the workplace and common interview mistakes. In addition to that we also learnt how to take apart and put all the pieces of a computer back together. We were also assessed on that. Now that I’ve spent 4 weeks at Microsoft in Reading the activities I have had so far have been various including a marketing campaign for a small charity based in Reading. My role was to create an advert for the charity called Smart Works which specialises in getting women from different backgrounds into work. Moreover, I've been assigned my own personal mentor which I see every week. We have discussions about what it's like in the corporate world and what it's like to work at Microsoft. In addition I've also acquainted skills in Power Bi, sales, email marketing, social media marketing, basic Python, data analytics and presentation skills.
