After graduating from college and a 15 month Vietnam tour with the U.S. Army, I came back to Salina to start work in accounting with a local grain company. I had worked at a local Coop elevator each summer during my high school and college years doing the hottest, dirtiest jobs imaginable so I guess I gained experience from the ground (or dust) upward. During my 8 years with Miller Grain Co. I moved from accounting to merchandising to elevator management. I then opened the doors to Hannebaum Grain Co., Inc. in 1979 specializing in cross country grain trading. During these past 40 years along with grain trading, we have also owned and managed several grain elevators and created 2 separate trucking companies. In 2015 I stepped down from being President but I am still active as the CEO/Chairman. I own a ranch by Lincoln, KS and I love to go get in their road as much as possible. I also have farming interests in Brazil. I belong to numerous state and national grain & cattle associations. I also have ownership in several other business interests.
