Recently graduated from the University at Albany's College of Arts and Science with a Masters and Bachelors of science degree in applied chemistry with a concentration in forensic chemistry. Since my graduate research with Dr. Alexander Shekhtman's lab, I have been eager to apply for a full time position in the field of chemistry.Through my research I developed the abilities in purifying proteins and operating various equipment involved such as but not limited to, Nickel Column Chromatography, centrifuges, and simple techniques of preparing cell cultures and buffer solutions. Also, my experience as a graduate research assistant with Dr. Shekhtman, helped me develop leadership and communication skills as I frequently interacted with my colleagues about the results. These interactions assisted in the analysis of data from a spectrum derived by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Spectroscopy or from an SDS-PAGE gel, indicating the presence of the desired protein. These experiences combined with my previous role as a teaching assistant in general chemistry; has provided me a clear understanding of chemistry techniques and the effort required to be successful.My past experiences have made me aware of the dedication, patience, and attention to detail required to succeed in this research position. Moreover, my leadership experience as an assistant manager at Spinners Pizza and Subs, demonstrates my dedication to multi-tasking and creative problem solving to assist in the completion of experiment demands to positive ends.My education, personality, and experience I developed and applied to my time at various positions at the University at Albany have prepared me well enough to work efficiently with others and be a great asset.
