As the owner and Managing Director of KIT SA (Keep It Together South Africa), I spend most of my time looking for new opportunities and innovative ways to improve the company’s efficiency, while remaining involved in the day-to-day running of the business. A significant portion of my responsibilities is strategic review and planning for the future.After achieving my BCom in Investment Management in 1984, I passed my Stockbroker Exam and became a licensed member of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, working as a stockbroker until the end of 2000. I was then presented with the chance to start a chemical trading business, mostly dealing with the polyurethane industry. This gave me an unrivalled opportunity to become involved in the accounts and sales side of the business, quickly learning how to effectively run a successful enterprise. In 2005, I purchased KIT SA, and have been serving as the company’s Managing Director ever since. My exposure to the stockbroking world as well as my experience starting and running my own company has given me a great understanding of business, which I am able to apply in my current role to great success. Beyond my financial acumen, I have gained significant interpersonal skills, which I apply to build close relationships with our customers, and to empower and look after my valuable team members. My dedication to my employees also sees me uplifting them through various training and education initiatives. In the 17 years since taking over KIT SA, I have grown the company from strength to strength, becoming fully ISO 9001 compliant and installing a Class 8 Cleanroom for uncompromising quality control. We have expanded our product range, our market share and our customer base, and today, KIT SA is a trusted supplier of high-quality primary packaging solutions for a range of industries.I am lucky to work with my wife every day, and outside of work we both enjoy cycling, hiking, travelling and new experiences.
