Topic of the thesis: "Analytical, experimental and simulative investigation of the torque of wheel bolts"The goal of the thesis was to understand how the tightening torque of wheel bolts can be calculated analytically. Therefore the impact on the wheel bolts by the forces in the wheel contact patch has been calculated according to the VDI-guideline 2230. The solutions of this calculation were compared to the solutions of a simulation. In further investigations the effects of a wrong tightening torque have been analyzed and in a trial also the effects of substances which can change the friction coefficient. At the end of the thesis the influence of spacer rings on the tightening torque have been discussed.
