I practice evidence-based Medical Nutrition Therapy, meeting nutrition needs of people at every stage of life. I specialise in diagnosing individual nutrition needs and prescribes diets for healthy eating, weight management, Poly Cystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), disease-related malnutrition, metabolic disorders like diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, micronutrient deficiencies and other digestive concerns.I currently practice at IRIS Inspiring Health Care, Supermart 2, DLF Phase IV, Gurgaon.

Working in TARA’s Sustainable Solutions Domain, my work revolves around the last mile delivery of basic needs solutions, in the area of Water, Sanitation, Hygiene and Health and value addition of locally available resources/existing Agri-based enterprises to enhance the overall quality of the products. In both these areas, my key responsibilities are as follows:• Project Management: Demand creation and management of basic needs solutions and testing alternate channels for distribution for enabling their access among rural communities. I have also conducted specialised trainings for women agri-entrepreneurs on ways to enhance the quality of the final food product• Research and innovation: Currently part of the team developing a analytical working framework on the scaling up potential of local green enterprises across the globe as part of Poverty-Environment-Partnership (PEP)• Business Development: Proposal development for creating and enabling access to basic needs solutions and creating livelihood opportunities through enterprise development for women• Knowledge Management: Processing and packaging of evidence based work into knowledge products. Worked on a project for training tribals in West Bengal (Chuikhim, Lowakui and Purulia), India. The project aims to help in establish these places as ecotourist destinations.Responsible for using locally available resources to create nutritious and delicious meals and then training volunteers who visit these places to train the local people.Teaching children who have either never gone to school or have left schools, through an educational software, 'Gyantantra' designed by the organization to bring them up to a basic level of Class Vth so that they can then be enrolled in schools.Holding classes for spoken English for children from classes Vth to VIIIth.

Planning low cost meals for the community- Planning involved good mathematical skills to take care of the calorie and nutrients'​ intake, innovation skills to invent new and low cost dishes using seasonal and easily affordable ingredients.Imparting informal education to children in the age group of 1-6 years- Communicating with the community children with confidence and using persuasive skills to help them realize the importance of health, education and cleanliness.Evaluating the nutritional content of the mid day meals provided to the children in the community- Using the standard references to calculate the energy and protein content of the meals provided to the children.Providing dietary counseling to pregnant as well as lactating women of the community- Communicating with the women of the community on how they should switch to more nutrient dense foods and increase their energy, protein, calcium, and iron intake. Using persuasive and communication skills to help them understand the importance of exclusive breast feeding, complementary as well as supplementary foods.Visiting the community's health centre to understand the community's general well being and understanding the immunisation programmes.Measuring height, weight, head, chest circumference and using the appropriate measurements and standard references to identify underweight children.
