Karen Leonardi currently serves Weber State University as a Senior Development Director for the Dumke College of Health Professions. An experienced business and client development executive with extensive skills in leadership and client relations, she focuses on consistently applying strategy, dedication and mindfulness to all areas of work.She devoted a total of 18 years to SelectHealth & IHC Health Plans. She was a Senior Associate and Licensed Consultant with Mercer Health & Benefits. Karen has spent more than two decades in the Utah insurance industry, developing strategic business solutions for employer healthcare issues and her experience spans all sizes of employers, but primarily focused on large employer groups.In 2005 she exercised her entrepreneurial spirit, founding her own company, Leonardi Benefit Design, Inc., focused on providing the utmost value and client care in the insurance industry. She built a solid insurance brokerage with a reputation for exceeding the expectations of her clients.She has always actively contributed to her community as a member of local boards & foundations. Karen currently serves as an executive committee member of WSUAA and participates in Women in Business for the Ogden Weber Chamber and the Davis chamber Women in Business group. She was recently appointed to the Ogden Pioneer Days Rodeo Board of Trustees. She is the past Chair of the Ogden Weber Chamber of Commerce, past chair of Ogden Weber Chamber Women in Business and is a past Chair of the Weber County Library Board of Trustees. Actively engaged in the community, she was honored by the National Association of Professional Women as their Professional Women of the Year as well as the Chamber as chairperson of the year and was selected for the Spirit of the American Woman award. She was recently honored with a UAHU "Jim Haig Call to Action Award."Karen holds a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication/Business from Weber State University.
