I have spent the last 64 years at work. Mostly in Food Service Management as a Restaurant Owner, Director of Food Services, and District General Manager. Mostly, The last 9 years have been with the Department of Workforce Services as an Employment Counselor. The last years of my career have been the most fulfilling by far, but you will never drive a Porsche on state wages. I would probably still be working had not Covid and all that it brings not entered my life in the fall of 2021. Through the heart attacks, pneumonias, COPD, many transfusions and breathing problems, i discovered that 2022 was the best year of my life. My family was with me 24/7 for the 41 days I was hospitalized, and I discovered that all of those times I preached on the importance of family had indeed sunk in. We learned so much about each other through those long 41 days and nights. In those 41 days, they taught me what success in life looks like. Success is not the money, the titles, or even the Porsches (that was hard to get out). Those three children are a true measure of my success in life. My wife and my family, both immediate and extended, continue to be at my side and give me strenghth on a daily basis.
