I was helping a small restaurant in Lausanne to stay “alive” during the beginning of COVID-19. I learned how to effectively manage our stock, how to upsell the right products & how to work under stress. I also gained knowledge about minor details that were generating higher revenue which was primordial in this period.However, I had to finish earlier than I was supposed to because of the covid regulations that forced the restaurant to close.

I was working in the logistics department. I was working closely with a small team having several tasks. However, our primary goal was to transfer every piece of paper into a numerical form. I developed my skills in task management. I also learned about the banking environment, how it is working and the law for banking secrecy.

I helped organise and set up events during games day and non-game days. I used to help either as a waiter or barman during the events. During football games, I went through different types of restaurants (casual & fine dining) where I was again working as a barman or waiter. I learned how to work with affluent customers and treat them as less affluent customers. It also taught me how to work effectively during specific times, such as half-time when I had 15 minutes to serve all my customers. It was stressful but helped me to gain much experience. It was also my first immersion in a new country alone, and it taught me many valuable lessons for my life.
