During my time at Onward running many different comeptitive Esports team projects, I was reunited with an old high school friend of mine that had entered the industry at around the same time as I had. GMT Esports is a great reality operating in Azerbaijan, Switzerland, Italy, and Turkey and it was my pleasure to take an Acting COO role for the closing 6 months of the year to provide the company with the necessary structure to undergo its expansion plans ahead of 2024.

Now that I am full-time dedicated into Esports I decided that I wanted to take an active role in shaping the ecosystem of the industry within the country. My biggest objective is demonstrate that the professionalization of the Esports domain should be welcomed and not feared and that PPPs could be the solution to bridge the interests of many different stakeholders together and ultimately lead to the federal recognition of Esports.

During the 18 months of pandemic when the gaming center was closed, the Esports industry boomed, and we consulted for brands on how to enter the sector and capitalize on this sudden growth. Once the health measures were over in March 2022 we chose to rebrand the gaming center to "GameGard" to mark a new begginning and complement the new brand of the company that now worked as a consulting agency and events organizer alongside its physical venue business.

The global pandemic that hit in March 2019 meant that the original business plan operating just a gaming space needed to be adapted which is when we transformed the company from just a physical venue operator into a consulting agency for gaming and Esports. During this time I was able to retain some of the key partners and link up with new ones while finishing my masters degree during the lockdown.

Back in May 2019 I opened the first dedicated gaming space in the city of Geneva the Division 1 Gaming Center. That was my first business experience and my first shot at making a living in the Esports and gaming industries, signing some great partnerships with Naxoo and Servette in the process and welcoming the public to a new type of venue in Geneva.
