I have been involved in various research topics covering some of the vast fields in Biomedical Engineering such as:- the study of ionizing radiation (UV-light) in systems comprised of DNA and compounds capable of DNA intercalation. This research is helping to discover new nontoxic light-sensitive compounds to be applied in Photodynamic therapy. - During my Master Thesis, I studied Computational and Mathematical Models of Transcription in Bacteria, where my work was to complete the Transcription Initiation Model at the nucleotide level. We used this model to study bidirectional promoters in E. coli, using both divergent and convergent arrangements. We were able to study how the distance between Transcription Start Sites, different arrangements and different kinetic parameters affect the RNA production. Finally we also studied Transcription Regulation Mechanism.- In my PhD Thesis i am focusing on Image Processing and Segmentation of Microscopic Images of Bacteria. This research is related to the study the kinetics of segregation to the poles and partitioning in division of aggregates in live bacteria.I have also been working in the Classification and Correction of poor sitting posture using Classification algorithms such as Neural Network and Naïve Bayes, and using automated correction algorithms based on biomechanical and ergonomic factors of the human body.
