Greetings and welcome to my LinkedIn. I am Leonardo Ortega and I'm excited to connect with you. For the past 13 years I have had the privilege of working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis. While I've enjoyed helping others in increasing socially significant behaviors and decreasing aggressive behaviors during my time there, I'm ready for a new challenge.After some serious soul-searching, I've decided to make a career change and pivot into the world of data analytics. I've always been drawn to studying human behavior through collected data. Data analytics is a broader use of my skillset in behavior analysis, for what is data but the recordings of human behavior when their environment is changed? I know that my analytical skills and attention to detail will serve me well in this new field.In my transition I have attended Glendale Community College where I earned 87% in my statistics course. I have also taken the Google Data Analytics Certificate course on Coursera. I was fortunate enough to find Avery Smith’s Data Career Jumpstart where I have expanded my knowledge of Excel, SQL, Tableau, and other data analytic career skills. These new skills used alongside my attention to detail and knowledge of behavior change will assist my employers in finding trends and explanations in data sets.In my free time I enjoy medieval studies in painting, medieval European martial arts, building and painting miniatures, and walks through national parks. My favorite fandom is Star Wars, and enjoy meeting new people. I'm excited to connect with others in the data analytics community and learn as much as I can from those who have come before me.
