Field Service Supervisor Grade 17
Current
Lodi N.J.
I started with Cablevision in 1980 as an install/ repair tech. With 9 years experience as a tech, I moved into working in the warehouse to learn this aspect of our company . I then took advantage of a construction opening. This position was very educational and dealt with every aspect of building a cable plant from under ground build and repair to aerial build and repair. After nine years in construction, I transitioned into a maintenance (OSP) job where again I learned what was needed from this point of view. This position taught me the importance of having to restore service in as little time as possible and covered 55 towns. We utilized three types of field equipment , Gerald , Magnavox and, S.A. . An opportunity to work with our rebuild team opened , I applied for the position of rebuild supervisor, opening up the opportunity to learn about managing both in house and contracted labor. This led to the field service supervisor's position that I have today. In both the rebuild and field service supervisors jobs I've learned the true meaning of multi-tasking and goal setting. Glad to say it has been a great experience and I'm still learning something new along the way. With Cablevision's multi-product line there is always something new to learn.
