Passionate Software Engineer. With nearly a decade of public service working for seniors and adults with disabilities, I have actively transitioned toward a career in software engineering. I am ecstatic to be part of Code the Dream’s Apprentice Software Developers team while seeking a B.S. in Cyber Security from Oregon State University. With four years of management experience and proven mentoring, coaching, and training skills, I have nurtured and tested my leadership skills. Additionally, I have developed experience in program management, quality and compliance, multilingual engagement, risk mitigation, person-centered care, and customer service excellence. All of which are integral skills for long-term growth and success. I am a self-motivated learner, and I am passionate about technology. I have built a solid foundational understanding of software engineering principles, object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms through Code the Dream's code school and undergraduate coursework. Another personal accomplishment of which I am proud has been co-founding the Oregon DACA Coalition. This is a youth-led immigrant rights advocacy group through which we secured and awarded 100+ work permit renewal scholarships to DACA recipients. In 2018 CAUSA, Oregon’s Immigrant Rights Organization, awarded me The American Dreamer Award in recognition of my leadership to advance equality for Latino Immigrants in Oregon.
