Organized at the remarkable CTE Roma - Casa delle Tecnologie Emergenti di Roma, this intensive event spanned two days and required collaborative efforts among diverse teams, each led by a seasoned public policy expert. It was an intensive two-day event where participants devoted themselves, sacrificing a sunny weekend and countless hours of sleep, to present four policy proposals on the second day. These proposals were carefully crafted and presented to esteemed judges, including Riccardo Corbucci, President of the Commission for Roma Capitale, Statute, and Technological Innovation; Michela Cicculli, Advisor for Gender Policies and Budget; and Luca de Angelis, Innovation Consultant at the Ministry of Economic Development. My team and I were tasked with delivering a viable solution for the administration of Comune di Roma Capitale, backed by comprehensive research and data analytics within a condensed timeframe. Employing a robust model, we meticulously assessed the policy's potential benefits and conducted a thorough evaluation. Our solution stood out among the proposals presented, earning recognition as the best choice by a panel of experts, policymakers, and council members of the Comune di Roma Capitale. The success of our proposal has not only led to its selection for real-world implementation but also positioned us to actively support the legislative process within the Comune di Roma and to engage with the administration of Rome, to discuss its practical application.I am immensely pleased to have collaborated with a team committed to effecting meaningful change.

Barcelona, 16-17/11/2022PRESENTATION OF THE TESORO PROJECT AT:20ª EDICIÓN Women 360° Congress"CONGRESO DE SALUD, BIENESTAR Y EMPRESA PARA DIRECTIVAS Y EMPRESARIAS"TESORO project (Treatment ExpoSition and ORigin of economic viOlence) as an analysis and solutions to GENDER-BASED ECONOMIC VIOLENCE, a type of insidious gender-based violence that is difficult to detect and quantify due to the low perception, awareness and transparency of the phenomenon.The research carried out over 8 months, involved: 2 countries (Italy-Spain), 4 universities (Sapienza University of Rome, University of Roma TRE, Universitat de Vic - Universitat Central de Catalunya, Universitat de Barcelona), 200 students and researchers, hundreds of hours of interviews and data collection, hundreds of anti-violence centers, associations, foundations and entities working to combat gender violence.The research findings were presented at two congresses, the first in Rome the second at the #W360BCN22 congress at the Universitat de Barcelona.The research highlights the origins, causes, motives that lead victims to suffer from economic violence (in Italy 26% of women are victims of economic gender violence) proposed solutions and clarified a type of gender violence that is insidious and difficult to detect.Identified discrepancies between the two countries, regarding the presence of the problem, sensitivity, perception, and especially modes of intervention.Honored to have been among the 16 official speakers of the publication, and even more so to have participated on the heels of #25November, World Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.

I devoted a significant amount of time, energy, and dedication to a beautiful and highly educational sport, water polo. The reality of Roma Vis Nova is one of excellence on both national and international levels. I traveled extensively, especially within Europe but not limited to, participating in tournaments and championships. However, cups and medals were not the only rewards; I gained numerous experiences that brought me many benefits. I developed a strong sense of awareness and leadership, but above all, empathy and sensitivity towards my fellow teammates. I cultivated a deep commitment and dedication towards a goal, as well as a sense of responsibility towards many individuals. This journey improved my communication and emotional interpersonal skills.I had the opportunity to explore facets of life beyond school and academics. Sports are essential for living in society and interacting with others; they teach respect and humility, while also fostering confidence in one's talents, achievements, abilities, and qualities, as well as acknowledging one's flaws and shortcomings. Above all, sports teach us to never be disheartened, to rise after a fall, viewing setbacks as opportunities for improvement rather than problems. Thus, my life is perceived as a chance, always and in every circumstance, and never as an issue.

In the USA, during my year of studies abroad, I had the opportunity to engage with one of the largest amateur sports communities in the state of Virginia and the entire USA. I was able to train with my swim team alongside boys and girls, some of whom held world records in their respective disciplines since they were minors. This experience broadened my horizons and took me out of my comfort zone, as I had to face such remarkable achievements. I improved in various aspects, including communication and humility. I often sought advice from younger athletes, but it didn't burden me; I understood how remarkable they truly were. Receiving corrections and assistance from them was an honor.I developed the skill of asking for and accepting help from unexpected sources. I learned not to judge a book by its cover, which might sound cliché, but it's true. We often live with stereotypes and prejudices. I learned to eliminate them and gain a different perception of reality, always positioning myself as someone who has something to learn and genuinely enjoys doing so.

I completed the fourth year of high school, having won a scholarship granted by the AFS INTERCULTURA organization.Leaving Italy and my daily routine, my overall perspective, I had the opportunity to experience a unique and unparalleled journey that I will carry with me throughout my life. I met so many different people around the world, visited countless places, and studied with individuals whose perspective was entirely different from mine. I gained a different perception of myself, discovering facets of my identity that I had never before imagined. All of this naturally reflected in my everyday life and how I experience the present, my here and now.This experience shattered some beliefs I used to rely on. Once those "crutches" were removed, I learned to run on my own legs, stronger and more determined than ever before. It wasn't an easy path at all; in fact, at times it was even painful. Not all our expectations are fulfilled, but I've come to realize that one cannot live based on dreams, illusions, false expectations, stereotypes, or prejudices. These things deprive us of the possibility of living a full and conscious life that truly represents who we are and satisfies anyone who lives it.The most important lesson I learned wasn't English; it was the awareness that we cannot live a life in the past, burdened by regrets and resentments, nor in the future, driven by illusions and expectations. Doing so would cause us to lose the most precious gift of all: our present moment.
