Leonardo is a technician in Biotechnology (ORT, 2003), Pharmacist (UFRJ, 2010), M.Sc. in Biological Chemistry (UFRJ, 2012), and Ph.D. in Biological Chemistry (UFRJ, 2017), advised by Prof. Dr. Kurt Wüthrich in UFRJ. First trained in Petroleum Microbiology, Environmental Microbiology, Industrial Microbiology, and Organic Synthesis. Professional experienced as a teacher in technical high school and University education (>6y), besides professional in phytotherapeutics and manipulation of medicines. I still have a scientific background in heterologous protein production, synthesis of bioactive peptides with structural, biochemical and vaccine uses. A structural biologist with deep expertise in analytical tools as mass spectrometry, NMR, and SAXS of proteins and biomacromolecules, as well as in biophysical techniques of circular dichroism, fluorescence. I have worked at the Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and visiting researcher at the electronic cryomicroscopy center of the Southern University of Science and Technology - SUSTech in Shenzhen City, Guangdong, China. In a partnership with CDTS of Fiocruz, Rio de Janeiro, also participate as a postdoc at the Virology Department at Fundação Oswaldo Cruz. Regarding the industries, I worked at FIRJAN (Industries Federation of Rio de Janeiro) developing COVID-19 diagnostics and improvement of agents for immunological assays. I was a faculty member at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as manager of NMR and X-ray tomography, currently working with proteomics, and mass spectroscopy at UFRJ.
