Since our inception, PHASE III has focused on providing academic strategies and realistic interventions for the achievement of innovative teaching and learning. Now, PHASE III is shifting the education paradigm.

The Flood group's strategy requires that power of the clergy, along with community leadership to help address the challenge of ensuring educational attainment for our children. We always welcome energetic leaders who are committed to one thing, the success of our children. 'Our whole educational system is in a crisis. It can't adapt. In fact, this crisis extends to industry and politics. Everything seems to be escaping our thought and hence our control.' [p. 246 Dalai Lama, The Path To Tranquility, Viking Arkana, 1999] The Wake County Community Education Committee more recently renamed 'The Flood Group' (more inclusive) as a movement. 'The Flood Group's focuses energies inward ensuring that our Schools, Communities, and Families are providing a real chance for children to achieve educational excellence, making them not only effective citizens, but globally competitive one generation at a time. The purpose and mission of the WCCEC (now the Flood Group) shall be to serve as a vehicle for bringing together diverse talents and forces within the community to foster the achievement of a quality education for all children. A major goal is to 'To collaborate with persons and organizations that are similarly committed to the mission of the WCCEC' At one time leadership for civil rights came from the church. 'The Flood' group's strategy requires that power of the clergy, along with community leadership to help address the challenge of ensuring educational attainment for our children. There are four factors that impact whether a student is successful: (1) School, (2) Home, (3) Community, (4) Individual. The Flood Group is deeply committed to student and parent advocacy and was founded by Dr. Dudly Flood and Reverend Marion Robinson to ensure student success by providing support in all four of these areas.

PHASE III was inspired by the great need for minority students to achieve in school and that is primarily our flagship concentration. PHASE III emphasizes successful academic outcomes that encourage student mastery of instruction, teacher-student relations, mentoring, college advisory and placement, workforce development, leadership development, and educational programs fund development. Certified professionals execute our services. Each professional: mentors, coordinates planning/reflection sessions, provides researched-based support and advisory, and assists with accomplishing overall goals. In turn, our clients are equipped with the necessary tools to fulfill the complete potential of all students; specifically minority students. The goal of our programs is to reach each client through mentoring and advising. With research and best practices as our foundation, we thrive to overcome and defeat challenges that our youth face in school and society each day. We aim to help them improve their overall academic motivation and performance. Underscoring our project is the belief that academic success is critical for life's success. For that reason, our program seeks to enhance the instruction youth receive in their school settings.

NCFPSC was created to maximize the effectiveness of the public school system by providing basic necessites such as eyeglasses, clothing, dental care and school supplies for public school children who are in need, improving parenting skills in order for the children to be successful in school, and expanding professional development opportunities for educators.
