About Leonardo Acquarone

My career motivation, and vision for the AEC industry, is to leverage technology and digitalization to convert a resistant AEC industry into a smart and efficient machine. Digital technology is a means to achieve a more integrated, efficient and data driven process, empowering teams to deliver better results.During my 9+ years of professional experience I worked in multi-disciplinary, big scale projects such as Al Wakrah Stadium for Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, Rio 2016 Olympic Summer Games masterplan and venues design, Estúdios Globo MG4, and others.Over the past few years I have succeeded in revising and improving processes and workflows using digital technologies like BIM, cloud management platforms, etc. One of my greatest career achievements so far was to be the lead BIM Manager, responsible for a multi office BIM implementation and for the first BIM project ever designed by AECOM in Brazil. ▪ Lead multi-discipline development of BIM deliverables (Revit, Navisworks, IFC, COBIe, etc.) from inception to completion, in all design stages.▪ Common Data Environment (CDE) setup, management and maintenance (BIM 360).▪ BIM Execution Plan (BEP) development as a response to the Employer's Information Requirements (EIR).▪ Maintain accuracy and best practices for modeling creation and coordination, specifically related to 3D Clash Coordination and resolution (Navisworks, BIM 360).▪ Experience coordinating firm-wide technologies, standards and guidelines with fellow BIM Specialists.▪ Improve and empower others to innovate through BIM tools training, and BIM knowledge sharing, resulting in an increased company BIM maturity.▪ Lead and coordinate multi-office BIM collaboration.▪ Experience working in multi-disciplinary high-quality projects such as sport venues, residential, commercial, mixed-use, shopping centers, hospitality and broadcasting projects.▪ Excellent graphical presentation skillsI have a strong desire to learn more about team building, coding, computational design and geometry optimization methods.
