Assist & provide funding for household renters of Kent County. While utilizing interpersonal communication skills to adapt from a case to case base.Maintain an active caseload of 25 households while effectively providing the best outcome for each households regardless of program eligibility. Utilize data based programs to better comprehend the eligibility of an applicant. Follow program policies and procedures to input, organize and manage data facilitating cross team communication of individual progress.Continuously adapt to ever-changing Grant & State guidelines to assist in-need residents with the appropriate funding.

The Anti-Violence Alliance is a new organization on campus that’s focused on making campus a safer place for everyone. They are raising awareness, providing education, training to prevent sexual assault, dating/domestic violence & stalking from occurring, and to create culture change on campus and in our community.

As a staff assistant, I do mainly violence prevention work. We focus on domestic violence, stalking, teen dating violence, and sexual assault awareness prevention work. Through this, we do many workshops, discussions, tabling, and collaborate with other organizations and departments on and off-campus. We trying to educate and get all students aware of this topics before things of these topics escalate.

Throughout this internship, I had the opportunity to connect with students all over the nation. Through this program, we were put into pods of 5 and had the opportunity to connect with corporate partners. I had the chance to partner with Bank of America, where they offered us a problem. "By 2050, Latinos will make up half the workforce. What are the unique ways that we can recruit LatinX/Hispanic talent." Through the 8-week program, we had many meetings with our mentors from Bank of America. They would give us tremendous feedback on what they think would be beneficial for us tackling this question. We would also have weekly meetings to help us better ourselves professionally. We had the chance to see professional coaches and executives present on various topics such as: Working with Mentors, Breaking down problems, Strategic relationship building, Executive communication, Pursuit of Excellence, and Presentation skills. At the end of my internship, we as a pod had to give a presentation to executives from Bank of America and the president and other employers from ALPFA from what we found in our 6-week research. Never the less, we did a tremendous job and got nothing but great reviews and feedback after our presentation.Throughout this experience, I learned how to develop myself professionally and even make some connections along the way. The biggest take away that I took from this experience was a simple quote from the lead speaker from this internship. "The money that you are getting out of this is good for right now but, will only last from so many weeks. The experience that you're getting from this will not only help you start off with your career but, will make an impact for a lifetime".
