About Leonardo Daga

I am from Gaeta, Italy. I took the "Laurea'' degree in Aeronautical Engineering at the University of Rome "La Sapienza", and the Ph.D. degree in Robotics and Automation in Feb. 1998.I worked as contract professor for many years at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" and University of Bologna (Forlì) in Industrial Automation Engineering, following the thesis works of tenths of students in many different areas of Automation and Aeronautics Engineering.I started as private professional in Software Development founding with two colleagues Aries Sistemi in 1999 thanks to my huge programming skill in C/C++, Matlab, and other programming languages, always looking for collaboration in the INS Algorithms design, my greatest area of interest.In the last decade with Aries Sistemi I developed many applications used by Alenia Space and ESA for satellite systems monitoring in the production and launch test phase, partecipating in the launch campaign of the Artemis Satellite in Kourou (French Guyana) or the Globalstar II satellites in Baykonour (Kazakhstan).Since 1999 until 2002 I worked as System Engineer consultant for the University of Bologna (Forlì Department of Aeronautics) in the FoDIAS project as coordinator of the simulation, design and implementation activity of an experimental LAAS in the Forlì Airport.Since 2004 I've started to increase the time dedicated to the INS Algorithms design working as consultant for Galileo Avionica in the design of algorithms for a new Navigation System Unit, developing also the interface to test the ADA algorithms using Matlab. One year later I started also my collaboration with GEM Elettronica in the design of the algorithms of their INS.Since 2011, I've worked almost full time in INS algorithms development, mainly for GEM Elettronica.After a great and forming experience between 2014 and 2015 at Fugro (NL) as INS/GNSS Expert, I've happily back in Italy to work in GEM, as director of the PRANS lab.
