• Developed opportunities for the acquisition of strategic mineral assets. • Designed the Business Plan for the Nickel Business Unit following the acquisition of Inco. • Steered critical stages of company and asset acquisitions, from origination, strategic and economic valuation, due diligence, negotiation, to Executive Board and Board of Directors approval. • Successfully completed a series of strategic transactions: acquisition of Canico ($800 million), Inco ($18 billion), Corumbá mine, and Rio Tinto's potassium assets ($1.6 billion); other uncompleted transactions include the acquisition of Xstrata, a major aluminum producer, a major copper producer, a Brazilian iron ore miner, copper smelter, among others. Worked on additional deals totaling over $100 billion.
