I managed five audit personnel for all corporate and field audits and one compliance coordinator. I oversaw the execution of risk assessment, internal audit plan, and value-added deliverables, delivering a high-quality internal audit product. I acted as the financial controller for a group of 31 skilled nursing locations in Florida and Georgia with approximately $400MM in annual revenue and $85MM in annual contribution margin. I oversaw budgeting and financial planning for all locations including capital expenditure analysis and approval, labor variance reviews, collection / AR management, and financial exception management.• I implemented structured labor management processes accounting for fixed versus variable staffing resulting in a $1MM labor savings in the first year.• I reviewed and analyzed division AR, working in conjunction with corporate accounting to clean up AR resulting in bad debt pickups in the first two years I managed the division - $2MM+ budget positive on P & L.• Acted as liaison for REIT transaction evaluation and assisted with financial due diligence for private equity transaction.

I developed and executed audit test plans for various aspects of the IT infrastructure and applications, including access control reviews of various financial applications, operating systems, and databases. I coordinated with the development and IS security areas to remediate audit issues in a timely and proper fashion. I acted as a consultant to these areas to ensure audit compliance that was achieved with new developments and implementations.

I coordinated communication efforts between the IS technical team and the user community. I collected user requirements for process improvements, gathered data on requirements, and transformed these requirements into solutions in the form of application enhancements and Crystal Report solutions. I developed and tested any back-end database manipulation required by system users.• I was solely responsible for the task of bringing HCR’s custom, Visual Basic-developed budget model application under the HCR production support umbrella. • I collaborated with accounting personnel to develop process changes to the PeopleSoft Financial application.

I conducted field audits at remote locations, including nursing homes, assisted living, and home, healthcare agencies. These audits concentrated mostly on financial aspects of the business unit but also included other areas such as human resources, marketing, and operations.

I created and conducted online tests for the PeopleSoft 8 Financials application. I created queries to ensure database integrity as well as resolved any discrepancies with the help of team members. I documented all tests conducted and all issues resolved.
