Profile bio

About Leonel D. Bejarán

I am very driven by my passion to show people there are alternative ways, besides sports, to succeed in life. Education, for instance, is the number one characteristic of a successful life. i played professionally in the Kansas City Royals farm system from November 2014 to December 2016. Those two years showed me how important it is to educate our youngest players while they are in the lowest level there is a professional baseball organization. With that being said, I am not only talking about academics. It is important to educate our players in topics such as culture, adjustments, resources, thriving, sports psychology, MiLB policies, etc. By providing them with such tools, organizations will be developing something more than just great ball players, but impeccable and successful people in all areas of life also. Working with the Oakland A's, I look forward to having an opportunity of sharing my story. Especially Latino players who are released and do not have a plan B. As someone who has been there personally. I am a true story that there are amazing opportunities besides baseball in life if you make yourself open to opportunities. I do not feel I am special because of what I have accomplished so far in life because anyone could do it, but I feel satisfied because I have not taken anything for granted.
