- Leader of multiple teams. Manage various Virtual Actuary teams, with both qualified and nearly-qualified actuaries, at different clients. Scope, plan and manage these projects to ensure quality delivery within budget and on time. Responsible for business development.- Oversee and provide technical guidance, review and sign-off. Projects range from reserving, solvency capital, valuation, pricing & product reviews, experience investigations, model validation, report writing, etc.- Led VA's team on IFRS 17 initiatives across multiple insurers and reinsurers. Key contributions include project management, policy and methodology development, actuarial calculations, financial impact assessments, sub-ledger integrations, BAU solution validation, and delivering training. Supported clients in South Africa, Malaysia, MENA, and beyond.- Leading the actuarial capability of a cell captive insurer where the VA team performs all actuarial functions, including embedded value and value of new business calculations, product development & pricing, leads generations and pilot projects, and reserving.- Project lead on building a Python based tool that retrospectively re-builds loyalty benefit balances – significantly improving actuarial controls for an insurer with a large liability in respect of these balances. - Audit involvement on solvency submissions to the Prudential Authority; ORSA reviews.

Part time lecturer of A311/CA1 (Actuarial Risk Management) for the Honours Actuarial Science course, and A213/CT5 (Contingencies).2021 - 2023: Academic supervisor for students doing Masters in Business Mathematics and Informatics, with industry directed research project titled "Developing an IFRS17 business intelligence and insights suite exploring predictive analytics (2021)" and “Optimizing the Premium Review Process - Exploring Predictive Modelling of Customer Behaviour and Profitability following Premium Reviews (2022)” who respectively received their degrees with distinction. And, most recently: "Developing an advanced planning tool for forecasting vehicle asset finance balances used in IFRS9 reporting (2023)."

- First line valuation and associated financial analytics using Prophet for a range of retail investment, annuity and Bancassurance risk products- Manage a high performance, diverse team of nearly/newly qualified actuaries and/or actuarial students, coaching and mentoring staff- Relationship manager for the Liberty and Standard Bank finance and actuarial fraternity to enhance the value to both parties through the bancassurance agreement.Notable Achievements:• Project lead for the embedding of a major rewiring of the financial reporting framework to enable segregated accounting and inter-company transfers to improve controls and allow a more granular analysis of surplus.• Steering committee lead for finance & actuarial in performing due diligence and establishing contractual payment agreements with a new FinTech partner.• Representing Actuarial in the Bancassurance Manco

- Actuarial valuation manager & product team lead.- Pricing, reserving and market-risk-management (ALM) of retail life annuities.- Accountable for calculating and analyzing financial metrics of the Bancassurance Funeral & Credit Life book (advising on the profit share, reserving & capital requirement, embedded value, life fund tax, microinsurance, cell captives, reinsurance structures, legals and addendums to the bancassurance agreement, etc).

First valuation role: Responsible for the valuation of all Rentmeester products (a small insurer that Liberty bought with a large funeral & smooth bonus book). Unique opportunity to have sight of a single life license that was not integrated with the rest of the company. Using & coding in Prophet & DCS.Extensive experience on Conventional With-Profit and Smooth Bonus funds, calculating BSRs, recommending bonus rates, costing of embedded derivatives, proposing solutions for funds in run-off, recommending and implementing changes to backing asset structures. Mentored by the Statutory Actuary. Direct engagement with the BU CFO.
