Currently a Change and Project Implementation Officer – Organisational Intelligence Team at Isle of Wight Council. My main role is to:-support the Transformation Manager working with services to assist them in the delivery of continuous improvement required as part of the Council’s Corporate Plan and as set out in the Transformation Plan or as directed by the Strategic Manager for Organisational Change and Corporate Governance. -provide support on matters relating to programme management, project management, business intelligence, needs analysis and gap analysis to inform service planning, strategic planning and decision making with regards to the Council’s Corporate Plan objectives and outcomes. Previously worked for Southampton City Council, Transport for London, The London Borough’s of Barnet, Barking & Dagenham and Islington. 20+ years Sustainable Transport & Road Safety project and programme management experience. I was elected the Loughton Town and Epping Forest District Council Councillor for Loughton Broadway Ward. Being an effective Councillor required me to balance the needs and interests of residents, the political group I represented and the council. My Councillor role centred around community leadership and engagement. My responsibilities included:-representing the ward for which I was elected-decision-making -developing and reviewing council policy-scrutinising decisions taken by the councillors on the executive or cabinet-performing regulatory and statutory dutiesMain achievements were:-Appointed Vice Chairman of EFDCs Overview & Scrutiny Committee-Initiated Loughton's annual town fun day-Supported local traders bringing Christmas events to The Broadway to increase trade-Coordinated a campaign to save a local Urban Open Green Space, Jessel Green (targeted for 195+ dwellings, as part of the Local Plan process). It’s now saved.-Campaigned to save local Children Centres threatened with closureI've been a school governor. I was responsible for overseeing the management side of the school: strategy, policy, budgeting and staffing. Enabling the school to run as effectively as possible, working alongside senior leaders and supporting teachers to provide excellent education to children.Fun fact: My wife and I appeared on BBC One’s ‘Pointless’ quiz show on Friday 14th October 2011. We won the show and took home the Pointless trophy.
