I was a product buyer and marketing coordinator for Scholastic Book Fairs Canada and Festival du Livre Scholastic. My focus was French books for children grades Pre-K to grade 6, and posters for children grades K to 8. My work included evaluating hundreds of children's books and media each year, meeting with vendors and negotiating a profitable deal, and marketing/merchandising the product to increase revenue. I also played a large role in managing inventory levels across our warehouses and analyzed sell-through reports to make decisions about future purchasing strategies. My marketing role included online marketing projects for Scholastic Book Fairs Canada and Festival du Livre Scholastic. I tracked the results of marketing initiatives to introduce the most successful English marketing programs to the French division. In 2014, I spearheaded the redesign of the Scholastic Book Fairs website to make it more streamlined, user-friendly, and lead generating. Beginning in 2015, I participated in the development of a Scholastic Book Fairs customer portal and an email marketing program (due to launch Fall 2016). In addition to taking on the project manager role when others were unavailable, I provided key marketing insight from the Discovery phase to the Development phase. I wrote all initial copy and revised it with recommendations from the team.
