I have conducted research at Deakin University through studies for a Graduate Diploma of Human Nutrition in 1991 (Thesis), Masters of Human Nutrition Research (Proposal 1992-1996), and Master of Human Nutrition 2017-2020 (Thesis and publications), plus additional private research. Research areas include NOVA food classification hypothesis, history, and research studies; food processing, industrial processing techniques, ingredients, food additives, food fractions, natural food components, salicylates, biogenic amines, glutamates, preservatives, toxicants, and contaminants; food sensitivities, intolerances, food allergies, FODMAPs, perceived food reactions, nutrition on restricted diets, diet and asthma, diet and ADHD, food sensitivities in young children, history of food sensitivities; Australian Dietary Guidelines; prevention of non-communicable diseases of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, cancer; and conditions such as respiratory, skin, gastrointestinal, behavioural and mental disorders.Research Skills include but are not limited to-Research Methodology of systematic searches, PRISMA reporting, definitions, comprehensive reviews, and literature reviews.Critical Analysis of study types, populations, comparative groups, dietary data collection, health outcomes, quality of studies.Comprehensive analysis of AUSNUT database (5,740 foods /drinks) consumed in 2012 Australian Health Survey including but not limited to: Food and Dietary supplement database, Food Nutrient Database, Discretionary Food List and AUSNUT applied to NOVA

Co-owner/manager of a family dental practice located in beautiful Tasmania. As Northwest Dental Co-director, I co-managed the strategic direction of the business, and was instrumental in the financial and business legal compliance. I authored a successful tender application and execution of private dental treatment of 6000 public dental patients 2007-2011, liaising with Oral Health Tasmania, legal representatives of Dept of Treasury, practitioners, staff, and patients. I created and authored patient communication, and reporting forms with attention to detail.As Northwest Dental Manager, I was responsible for business, staff relations and finance management. I co-ordinated excellent communication in the practice between practitioners, staff, patients, public, suppliers and service technicians. I authored and created extensive protocols and procedure manuals, and patient education literature. I have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail in all written communication, including legal documents. I have over 40 years’ experience in business management.

Consultancy work for nutrition education on general nutrition and food sensitivities, research in pharmaceutical excipients, member of Australian Nutrition Foundation (now called Nutrition Australia) and Editor of Tasmanian Branch Newsletter 1993-1995.

AS a registered pharmacist in retail and hospital pharmacies, I performed the duties of Pharmacist, Manager- Pharmacist, and/or Locum Pharmacist in various locations in New South Wales and Tasmania, Australia, and London UK.
