I am an Undergraduate First Generation Latina student at UC Santa Cruz with a degree in Psychology and Sociology along with a minor in Education. My previous work experiences include:Administrative Receptionist (2020-2021) for the Educational Opportunity Programs Office (EOP) at UCSC, where I worked towards supporting first-generation, low-income college students in their academic, professional, and personal journeys. Similarly, as a Wellness Intern (2021-2022) for EOP, I got to event plan for students to engage in activities related to fitness, mental health, and overall wellbeing.In terms of organization involvement, I was a part of Hermanas Unidas de UCSC for 4 years of college and held steering leadership positions since my freshman year. I began as a fundraising chair, gaining experience with funding opportunities, budgeting, collaborating with the treasurer, and community building. In my sophomore year, I held the secretary position and developed my notetaking skills, creating bi-weekly newsletters, keeping track of members, and reaching out to them via email with updates on events and opportunities. During my junior year, I was treasurer and was able to develop my budgeting skills as well as communication with the fundraising chair and community partners to foster financial stability within the organization. Lastly, I had the pleasure of being the Co-chair as a senior, which allowed me to enhance my communication skills, professionalism, leadership, team support, and resourcefulness. Similarly, I was involved in Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority Incorporated since my sophomore year. I held several positions such as; fundraising chair, social chair, secretary, and Vice President. The sisterhood allowed me to build a community and sense of belonging at UCSC by inspiring me to lead with balance and empowerment. Overall, my involvements and college journey inspires my love for building community, support, and empowerment. Fun fact: I love Frida Kahlo because she was an amazing Mexican painter; portrayed her personal adversities through artwork while embracing her identity with pride.Interests: journaling, healing, exploring nature, reading books like, "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz, drinking coffee & studying at cafes, meditating, dancing, and prioritizing my wellbeing through wellness activities
