As part of my Year in Industry for my degree I worked in the QA department at Faurecia - a tier 1 supplied to Nissan and Toyota. Within the department we worked on continuous improvement of products through 8D Quality Basics, Testing and client interaction.I had a great opportunity to work along side the Product Launch team during machine / tool approval process' with OEMs and creating new FMEA documentation. I gained valuable knowledge in many advanced and traditional manufacturing processes. Working in tandem with different Departments such as Health and Safety, Maintenance and Logistics gave me a great oversight of the industry and I enjoyed the teams shared value of innovation.I greatly improved my organisation and management skills by initiating my own project to rectify product variant misidentification using an automated sensor solution. Through working with with multiple sensor suppliers we successfully implemented a cost effective solution that mitigated the defect.
