Leon Nathaniel Rock is a Community Development Guru (Subject Matter Expert) who has been active in local and national housing and community development for more than 30 years as a professional, volunteer and board member. He has extensive experience working with community stakeholders to reimagine communities.Rock has worked with Federal, State, and local governments, national foundations along with large, small, and volunteer-run nonprofit organizations in a wide array of mission areas. Rock has provided expert technical assistance and training in the areas of strategic planning and board governance. He has also managed a long term community building and capacity building projects for the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development in partnership with the Urban Institute, which conducted best practices research and provided training to leading public housing agencies throughout the United States. Over 30 years of experience in managing large, multi-task contracts for federal agencies. In-depth understanding of federal roles/constraints, contractor roles; and client-agency needs & initiatives. He holds a Masters's degree in community service management from Cambridge College, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Massachusetts, College of Public and Community Service with the ability to hire talented staff to meet and exceed client-agency expectations.
