I am an experienced professional in retail, where I have experience leading and managing buying departments at Intermarche. In June 2013 I have started working at Intermarche as Head of Seafood Products Commercial Department, including all fresh seafood and fish products, frozen fish, dry and salted fish. I am responsible for leading a team of 10 people and for the management and performance of a key department of the company.In 2008, Sonae MC acquired Carrefour Portuguese business where I had been previously, and I was placed as Stock Manager. Shortly after I moved to Poultry Meat Category Manager and afterwards as Traditional and Industrial Bread Category Manager. I had joined Carrefour in January 2007 as Fish Category Manager, where I took responsibility for the purchase of all frozen and salted (cod) fish for all company stores. It was during this year that I felt the need and had the willing to study fish more in-depth and concluded a Master in the Fish area at ISA. I started my professional career in 2004 within Retail and never left this area. I was Section Chief of Frozen Products in Auchan, placed at the biggest and most successful store of the company. There I was responsible for leading a 20 person team and for the management of a business unit. During the time at Auchan I was invited to make part of the negotiation committee of Frozen Products for all the company stores. This background allowed me to realize that, although it is essential to hold know-how of the store day-to-day business, I felt tailored to the buying process of the business, and I pursued that path since. I graduated in Agro-Industrial Engineering, at the Agronomy Superior Institute (ISA) of Lisbon, in 1998.
